The 21-year-old, who also went to Lutterworth High School, said: "The great thing is that all members live in Leicestershire, so members can meet up prior to a booking, have a chat and swap keys! It's a site set up to put the local and trust factor back into the internet and holiday rental market."
The company, based from Nicola's family home in Lutterworth, is not an agency and does not take commission.
Nicola, who studied Communications and New Media at Leeds University, is being supported in the project by brother Tom (23).
The pair recently had a stand at the Leicestershire Show in Melton Mowbray and spoke to visitors about the concept. Nicola said: "The response was exciting. People loved the idea, we just need help spreading the word!"
Properties already featured on the website include a French cottage near a harbour, studio apartments in Bulgaria and villas in the Bahamas and Florida.
She added: "The idea came about due to the trust factor - I've spoken to people who are willing to rent out their holiday homes but feel uneasy about who they would be letting to."
"This gives people a chance to get to know the people beforehand."
